DPF Delete

A DPF delete is a modification that removes a diesel vehicle's diesel particulate filter (DPF) and reprograms the Electronic control unit (ECU). The goal is to improve the vehicle's performance, fuel economy, and torque.

How it works

Remove the DPF from the exhaust system 

Replace the DPF with an exhaust pipe without a filter 

Reprogram the ECU so it works without the DPF 

Benefits
The engine can breathe more freely, resulting in better power and torque
The engine doesn't have to work as hard to move air through the exhaust system
The DPF system can be very expensive to be replaced,  the delete update means  it will not need to be replaced

Downside effects
Driving a car without a DPF is harmful to the environment and illegal 
Inhaling soot or dust from the DPF can be harmful and is one of the main causes for respiratory problems.
